Chris Heape's PhD defence


This monday Chris Heape was defending his thesis "The Design Space the design process as the construction, exploration and expansion of a conceptual space". Chris gave a very interesting lecture on his research and answered the review committee's questions with style!

An interactive airguitar shirt - an ideal christmas present

Our PhD student Willem just showed me this shirt with built in sensors so when you play airguitar (as everybody does) you will actually hear what you play. As they say on the web site: It's not rocket science - it's rockin' science! I want one for Christmas!

A royal week comes to an end

So now the week is closing down - work wise anyway. The peak (for some) were the grand opening of our new campus, Alsion, this Tuesday, where the Queen visited and made the official opening even though we have been working here for 5 months by now. I guess it was put so late because it was actually postponed 3 times and the queen got so tired of being stood up, that she put in a 5 month buffer... After all it was fun to see the royal family and to hear the local symphony orchestra in the concert hall.
